The Admin Initiative is looking for exceptional administrative talent. We hire people on a 1099 contract basis who are looking to make a difference while making a living.


Who You Are

To be considered for a remote virtual assistant role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • US-based

  • College educated (Associate’s degree or higher)

  • A minimum of 3 years of recent experience supporting C-suite executives in an administrative capacity, or 5-7 years of other applicable professional experience

  • Very comfortable with tech, and able to learn new applications quickly and independently

  • Looking for part time work only

  • Available to respond quickly to client needs during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, 9 am to 5 pm

  • Able to commit to forming a lasting relationship with each client (1 year or longer)


Our Selection Process

At The Admin Initiative, we’re looking for the best. Our recruitment process is rigorous; many apply, but only a few are selected to join the team.

If your application is selected, you’ll be evaluated through several steps:

  1. Initial Application

  2. Submission of video introduction

  3. A 1:1 interview

  4. Completion of sample tasks

  5. Reference checks

  6. A full background check, prior to being placed with a client

We’ll show you how we do things, provide mentorship as you grow your own VA business (if that’s what you’d like to do) and support you each step of the way as you provide exemplary service to our clients. You’ll be able to work wherever you want, and have the flexibility to determine the course of each day. Sounds like the best job ever, doesn’t it?


Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work? Do I work certain hours, on a set schedule?

Following successful completion of an introductory period, virtual assistants work directly with clients 1:1. We ask that you be available to respond to and schedule calls with your clients as needed during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 9 am to 5 pm). There are tasks that can wait till the middle of the night, there are tasks that need completion right away. So flexibility to meet daily client needs is key.

I have a full time job. Can I fit this in on the side?

No. Our assistants are professionals who need part time work (such as moms with kids in school, recent retirees, or students in night school), and who are committed to their clients’ success during business hours.

How many hours will I be expected to work?

Virtual assistants for The Admin Initiative should be available at least 10-15 hours a week (2-3 hours per day) with a flexible schedule.

I currently already work in my own virtual assistant business. Can I apply?

Absolutely, as long as you are willing to learn how to provide the polished level of service we provide at The Admin Initiative. Regardless of your experience level as a VA, you’ll go through our training and receive feedback along the way. This role is a great way to start building your career within the VA industry.

How long will it take for me to be placed with a client?

This depends on the successful completion of our training, along with the natural ebb and flow of our business. You’ll gain clients one by one, so you can expect a gradual increase in hours over the course of a few months.

Do assistants work for The Admin Initiative, or the client?

Assistants work fully remotely, directly with the client, but are members of the team at The Admin Initiative.

I’m American, living in England. Can I still apply?

No, only those living in the continental US can be considered at this time.
